The hooded towel
So it has been 2 months since my last post but as promised here is the tutorial on hooded towels.
I love! these towels. A friend made the first ones that we had. I use them from the time my kids were born. They are great gifts for babies, kids, and swimmers of all ages.
you will need...
a sewing machine
scissors
1 hand towel
1 large bath towel
a few pins and a ruler

| Fold large bath towel in half |
 |
| Put a pin to mark 4inches over |
 |
| And a pin to mark 3inches down |
 |
| Start a the top where you marked 4inches and sew down to the 3inch pin. |

| Open |

| Flatten centers together making sure they are as even as possible (you can baste or pin this down if you need). Set large towel aside for later. |

| Fold the hand towel up 10inches and cut on the fold. You will use the 10inch length to make the hood part. The rest you can save for another project. |

| I like to surge the edge because terri cloth (towel fabric) tends to fray. It is fine if you don't. You can also try zig zagging the edge to give it a finish. |

Fold towel in half and sew. Make sure if there is a pattern or design that you fold the towel so that it is in the inside when you sew.

| Now pin the hood to the towel as shown making sure centers match. |

Sew the towels together with the hood on top. Be sure to open and flatten the seam when you sew them together. *make sure you go over the edges a few times to make sure the hood is secure.
Trim threads and put it to use. |

So there it is a custom hooded towel.
